The Challenge

A phenomenal but neglected 70-Acre property with 1100 foot of Snake River frontage featured an outdated log main house and a small guest house, as well as an observatory and squash court, but all were in need of enlarging and updating to meet the complex needs of a visionary international businessman and his large family.

The Solution

Over three years, the property was reconceived and brought back to life as an extraordinary elegantly rustic main house suitable for the most sophisticated entertaining — and a 4,500 square foot classically Western guest house with six large ensuite bedrooms. This truly world -class estate required the talents of a large team of outstanding professionals: Susan Shepard, John Thorkildsen and Victoria Scarlett for interiors; Don Beck of Cincinnati provided the incredible architectural design, and the immensely talented Peter Fillerup was lighting designer. Demburgh Construction provided excellent construction services. Finally, to create a truly world-class setting, Jim Verdone of Verdone Landscape Artists created a setting worthy of this great estate that features extraordinary water features, bridges, redirected streams and outdoor spaces for spectacular lounging and entertaining.
